AUDIOVISUAL TRANSLATOR - LOCALIZER
(ENGLISH > SPANISH)
Hello there! My name is Cyntia Zepeda, I'm a translator from English to Spanish and vice-versa, from Chile. I specialize in audiovisual translation and localization, focused on video games. My goal is to acquire more experience in the videogames industry, so I'm currently looking for short and long-term localization projects that may include translating, editing, reviewing, and testing.
In my own experience, I have participated in projects such as GameJams & LocJams, in the translation, editing, and testing process. I was also part of the narrative process in one of them, too!
I would be so thankful if any of you is interested in localizing your game or need someone to be part of your linguistic team!
On another note, here's a little bit about me personally, some of my favourite games I've played. Please enjoy!
Some of my favourite games are Assassin's Creed saga, Yakuza 0 saga, Shadow Of The Tomb Raider, A Plague Tale, Syberia The World Before, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Steelrising, The King Of Fighters, among others.
So, as you can tell, I enjoy adventure, RPGs, mystery, and hidden object games, so any recommendation is appreciated.

These are the projects that I've participated in so far:
LocJam #1: My first Locjam project was about video game localization, specifically from English to Spanish (LATAM). I was in the editing & proofreading process.
It's a simple and short point-and-click game about a 15-year-old girl stuck in another dimension and trying to get out by finding hidden objects throughout other dimensions!

LocJam #2: Las Aventuras Extraordinarias de Arsenio Lupin, Caballero Ladrón De Maurice Leblanc ("The Extraordinary Adventures of Arsène Lupin, Gentleman-Burglar" by Maurice Leblanc)
My second locjam project was about the literature translation of the book "The Extraordinary Adventures of Arsène Lupin, Gentleman-Burglar" by Maurice Leblanc. On this occasion, I was in charge of revision and was also part of the translation process among my group partners.

My third locjam is an audiovisual project. We had to translate and subtitle the movie "Night Of The Living Dead". The team decided to add descriptive subtitling and the subtitled translation, so it was a challenging project, and very entertaining to participate in.

Women Game Jam 2024: Alma Está Herida (LATAM Spanish)
In August 2024, I was part of the Women Game Jam, and I was included in a very talented group. And from that, "Alma Está Herida" was created. This game is about Alma, a 15-year-old girl who suffers an embarrassing moment on her birthday, so the main objective is to select the right sentences to say to her family, otherwise, Alma turns into something that no one wants to become.
Also, makes you think before talking to someone you care about, almost like in real life.
